Week 1

Of course, after deciding to start a blog detailing my training, I get sick. It started on Monday, but I was still able to fit in two workouts. I was able to get to the gym and swim 1000 meters and run a few miles of hill work at the park. I had to cut the run short, though, knowing that I was going downhill health wise. That second workout probably wasn't my smartest idea ever. Tuesday came on with a vengeance. I was able to go to work and trudge my way through the day, but I had a full-blown sinus attack. Nothing would be accomplished Tuesday.

I finally felt a little better today, with the exception of feeling like my head was the size of a hot air balloon. I decided to change my week's workout schedule and try to get in a swim and run today again. I aimed for 1150 meters of swimming and 4 miles of running. While changing for the swim I happened to drop my cell phone on my foot, which immediately bruised and hurt like crazy. I got through the swim quite well and after work decided to run on the treadmill. I was worried about the bruised foot, but all worked out well. I wasn't able to do 4 miles, though, as I could definitely feel the effects of the cold. I did manage to get in 3.5 miles, in a decent time. All-in-all, I can't complain.

Stats:
Wednesday:
Swim - 1150 Meters
Run - 3.5 Miles (27:40)

A New Blog

I named this entry "A New Blog," though the title "A First Blog" might have been more appropriate. I have had to use blogs before for school and work, but I have never created one just to have one. Nevertheless, this is my attempt. I am creating this not for anyone in particular... just for myself. Hopefully over time I will get to meet some new people who have a like interest, but if not, that is just fine. In reality, I am creating this to have a log of my running and triathlon life.

So, my plan is to keep this blog updated with training, races, events, and otherwise interesting life events. Please feel free to comment or follow along on the journey!
